ARISTODEMO SILLICH (TRIESTE, 1858 – ? 1943)

 

 

 

 

He took vocal lessons from H. Friedrich in Trieste and made his debut in 1876 at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste. In 1887, he appeared at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa in Bellini’s La Sonnambula. In 1888, he sang at La Scala in the premiere of the opera Nestorio by Gallignani. In 1889, he performed at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. His biggest success came in Poland, where he first guested in 1890 at the Teatro Imperiale in a concert. He sang in Warsaw until 1903, performing his roles in both Italian and Polish. In 1903, he left Warsaw and returned to Trieste, and in 1915, he finished his stage career. His son, Jerzy Sillich, was a conductor and worked at Polish theaters, continuing to appear after the Second World War in Bytom (Beuthen) and Wrocław.
