ENRICO VANNUCCINI (LIVORNO, 1877 – ?)

 

 

 

He likely made his debut in 1898 at the Teatro Avvalorati in Livorno, performing in Paulus by Felix Mendelssohn. In 1904, he took on the role of Sparafucile in Rigoletto at the Teatro della Pergola in Florence. His career saw significant milestones, such as his appearance in 1909 at the Teatro Comunale of Bologna, where he performed in the premiere of Rosellina dei Vergani by E. Balilla Pratella.

On October 14, 1911, he appeared at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan for the premiere of Riccardo Zandonai’s Conchita. During the 1912–13 season, he was engaged by the prestigious Teatro alla Scala, where he performed in the Italian premiere of Laparra’s La Habanéra in 1912 and E. Wolf-Ferrari’s Le donne curiose in 1913, taking on the role of Pantalone.

In 1916, he performed at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome as Baldassare in Donizetti’s La Favorita and as Ramphis in Aida. At the Teatro Argentina in Rome in 1926, he sang the role of Geronte in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut. After an illustrious career, he retired in 1946, with his final performance being in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno.
