GIUSEPPE KRISMER (NAPLES, ITALY, 1873 – POZZUOLI, NAPLES / PROVINCE, ITALY, 1946)

He made his stage debut in 1902 at the Teatro Malibran in Venice, performing as Fernando in La Favorita. His career quickly gained momentum, and by 1904, he was already performing at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna as Walther von Stolzing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, conducted by Arturo Toscanini. That same year, he achieved notable success at La Scala, where he sang the Duke in Rigoletto. In 1907, he appeared at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in Berlioz’s La Damnation de Faust, a role he reprised in 1910 at La Scala in Milan. His career spanned three decades, and he was still performing as late as 1932, when he appeared at the Politeama Genovese in Genoa.
