Description
CLAUDIA ALBRIGHT
As early as 1905, the singer appeared with the Savage English Opera Company, which at that time, during its 1905–06 U.S. tour, featured such prominent artists as Florence Easton, Francis Maclennan, Gertrude Rennyson, and Rita Fornia. With this company, she performed as Venus in Tannhäuser, Siebel in Faust, and took on smaller roles in Die Walküre and Parsifal.
By 1910, she was performing in Europe, including appearances at the Bremen City Theater. In 1924–1925, several recordings of her voice were made on Edison discs, including the Habanera from Carmen and a selection of Spanish folk songs.
The quality of her voice is striking, especially considering the relatively modest scale of her career.
