HARRY SOLLOWAY (1899 – 1960)
Solloway was born in Riga, Latvia. He was a pupil of Henri Berthelier at the Paris Conservatory and Hubay at Budapest. He graduated with highest honors. Solloway concertized in Italy and was awarded the title of Cavalier. He gave recitals in Great Britain and was a featured soloist in International Celebrity Concerts between 1927-1929 conducted by Sir Henry Wood. Solloway served as concertmaster in America under Walter Damrosh. He conducted at the Paramount Theatre in New York and was concertmaster with Werner Janssen and Joseph Pasternak in California. He was affiliated with motion pictures until his death.
