IRMA KATHARINA SEYDEL (BOSTON, SEPTEMBER 27, 1897 – [??])

 

 

 

 

She studied the violin, first with her father, Theodore C. Seydel, a German- born, American-born violinist who worked for over 30 years with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.  Irma later studied with Strube and Loeffler. She made her first public appearance at the age of four. Like her father, she was a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and gave concerts in major German cities.

His compositions were: a Minuet; Indian Dirge, several fragments for violin and some vocal melodies.

He died no earlier than 1954, the date on which he appears in the Boston city census.
