CORNÉLIS JOSEPH LIÉGEOIS (NAMUR, 25 MARCH, 1860 – PARIS, 30 JANUARY, 1921)
Liégeois, student of Joseph Servais, at the Conservatory of Brussels was a cello virtuoso in his time. He was a member of Benjamin Bilse’s orchestra in Berlin and soloist at the Concerts Lamoureux in Paris, the city where he takes up residence and French nationality. As a composer he is the author of a method for cello, a mass, a string quartet and numerous works for one or more cellos.
