FREDERIC ANSPACH (BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, 25 JUNE, 1908 – BRUSSELS, BELGIUM, 19 AUGUST, 1977)

 

 

 

 

After studying at the Brussels Conservatory, he performed several opera roles at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels during the 1930s. He later shifted his focus almost entirely to concert singing, achieving notable success as an oratorio and lieder singer in Belgium and France. His performances included appearances as a concert soloist at prestigious events such as the Salzburg Festival (1934), the Maggio Musicale in Florence, and concerts in Amsterdam.

In Paris, he frequently participated in major concert events, becoming a prominent figure in the French music scene. Simultaneously, he was a highly sought-after singing teacher, holding professorships at the Liège Conservatory and later in Brussels. His influence extended to many important Belgian singers who were among his pupils.
