ALEXANDER MILTSCHINOFF (SOFIA, BULGARIA 22 APRIL, 1907 – VIENNA, AUSTRIA, 6 FEBRUARY, 1996)

 

 

 

 

He received his education at the Music Academy in Vienna and began his stage career at the Opernhaus in Liegnitz. He made guest appearances in France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, and Yugoslavia. His repertoire included roles such as Florestan in Fidelio, Tannhäuser, Otello, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Canio in Pagliacci, the Duke in Rigoletto, Don Carlo, Fra Diavolo, Don José in Carmen, Dimitri in Boris Godunov, Pedro in Tiefland, and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte. In 1956, he left Dresden and settled in Vienna. From 1958 onwards, he worked as a professor at the Wiener Musikhochschule.
