HELGE NISSEN (RYDHAVE, 5 SEPTEMBER, 1871 – COPENHAGEN, 5 OCTOBER, 1926)

 

 

 

 

He studied singing with Leopold Rosenfeld and made his debut in 1897 at the Royal Danish Opera as Mephistopheles in Faust. During his time, he was one of the leading baritones at this opera house. In 1909, he made a guest appearance at Covent Garden in London. That same year, he was appointed Royal Chamber Singer. From 1912, he served as the opera director at the Royal Danish Opera School.
