NAP (NATHAN) DE KLIJN (AMSTERDAM, 16 AUGUST, 1909 – HILVERSUM, 23 AUGUST, 1979)

 

 

 

 

After studying music with his uncle Jacop Hamel, he majored in violin at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He met Alice Heksh at the Conservatory and married Heksh in 1936. From 1945 he formed the Amsterdam Duo with Heksch. In 1952 he formed the Netherland String Quartet and continued his activities until his death. After the death of his wife Heksh, he taught at the Royal Academy of Music in The Hague.
