AURELIO VIALE (ROMA, 1864 – ?)
He made his debut in 1890 at the Teatro Quirino in Roma as Valentin in ‘’Faust’’. He retired from the stage in 1926.

ANGELO SCANDIANI (VENEZIA, 1872 – MILAN, 1930)
At first, he worked as a civil service employee. Around 1900, he began his singing career on smaller Italian stages. In 1903, he appeared as Amfortas in a concert performance of Parsifal at La Scala (probably only the third act). On 30 November 1904, he sang at the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Turin in the premiere of Franco Alfano’s Risurrezione.
During the first decade of the 20th century, Scandiani made guest appearances at Covent Garden in London, where between 1906 and 1908 he performed in Carmen, Faust, several Verdi operas, and appeared alongside Emmy Destinn in Madama Butterfly.
In 1911, he joined Nellie Melba’s opera troupe, which toured Australia. In 1916, he returned to La Scala, singing Lothario in Mignon with Ninon Vallin; that same year, he appeared at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires as Hans Sachs in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
He was also known as an interpreter of Mephistopheles in Berlioz’s La damnation de Faust. From 1919 to 1930, he was active in the administrative staff of La Scala.

He studied with Benedetto Lucignani and made his debut in 1908 in Locarno as Carlo in Ernani. Immediately after his debut, he appeared in Carmen (Escamillo) at the Teatro Garibaldi in Chioggia, where he was urgently called to save the production after two baritones had been protested. The First World War interrupted his career.

ROBERTO VIGLIONE (RIO DE JANEIRO, 1889 – MADRID, 1921)
His real name was Roberto Fernandes Carrapatoso. He studied the violin at the Conservatory of Rio de Janeiro, becoming an excellent performer. He later went to Milan, where he completed his vocal studies at the Milan Conservatory. He made a successful operatic debut in Verdi’s Il trovatore in Alessandria on April 9, 1910. He died of pneumonia in Madrid on February 2, 1921. He made only one recording, for Columbia.
