LOUIS GUÉNOT (BESANÇON (DOUBS), 03-05-1891 – CLICHY-LA-GARENNE (HAUTS-DE-SEINE), 13-05-1968)

 

 

 

 

He made his debut at the Opéra-Comique in Paris in 1921 and, over the following twenty years, performed numerous roles at this opera house. In 1924, he appeared in the premiere of Henri Rabaud’s L’Appel de la Mer at the Opéra-Comique. In 1930, he guested in Amsterdam as Thoas in Iphigénie en Tauride under Pierre Monteux. In 1932, he performed the roles of Crespel and Schlemihl in Hoffmanns Erzählungen in Amsterdam. In 1939, he appeared in Scheveningen as Arkel in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, alongside Elen Dosia and Georges Cathelat, under the direction of Ernest Ansermet.
