He likely made his debut in 1909 as Fasolt in Das Rheingold at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, where his career would remain closely tied. He performed there during the seasons 1910–1911, 1914, 1923, and 1928–1938. His repertoire at Monte-Carlo included roles such as Hunding in Die Walküre, Hagen in Götterdämmerung, Sparafucile and Monterone in Rigoletto, Ramfis in Aida, Conte Rodolfo in La Sonnambula, Alvise in La Gioconda, Colline in La Bohème, Zuniga in Carmen, Schlemihl in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Roucher in Andrea Chénier, Saint Bris in Les Huguenots, Tristan in Martha, and Geronte in Manon Lescaut. Later in his career, he transitioned to buffo roles, such as Bartolo in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and the Sacristan in Tosca, and also performed in operettas.

At the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, he took part in several world premieres: Ennius in Massenet’s Cléopâtre (1914), Béatrice by André Messager (1916), I Mori di Valenza by Ponchielli (1916), Lysistrata by Raoul Gunsbourg (1923), La Femme nue by Henry Février (1929), and Marmont in L’Aiglon by Honegger-Ibert (1937). He also appeared in the French premiere of Richard Strauss’s Arabella in 1934.

He made guest appearances at the Grand Opéra in Paris between 1909 and 1913, debuting in Le Vieil Aiglon by Raoul Gunsbourg. In 1927, he performed at the Théâtre Fémina in Paris with Marguerite Bériza’s company in the premiere of Jacques Ibert’s Angélique as the Fabigen, a role he reprised at the Opéra-Comique in the 1930–1934 seasons.

In 1913, he appeared at Covent Garden in London as Mephistopheles in Faust and Frère Laurent in Roméo et Juliette. In most of his performances, he was billed as “Mr. Marvini.”
