MARCEL HUBERT
Marcel Hubert was a talented cellist and a student of the renowned Gérard Hekking. During the 1920s and 1930s, he toured extensively in the United States, showcasing his artistry in numerous concerts and recitals.
He was married to a relative of the celebrated artist Marc Chagall, although the marriage later ended in divorce. His family also included his sister, Yvonne Hubert, a Belgian-born Canadian pianist and esteemed pedagogue who significantly influenced Canadian classical music education. Marcel Hubert’s connections to both the art and music worlds highlight his place within a culturally rich and creative milieu.
