CHARLESKY (DÉSIRÉ PERRET) (LYON, FRANCE, MAY 2, 1881 – PARIS, FRANCE, DECEMBER 4, 1960)
He took the pseudonym Charlesky after spending three years in Russia. In the early 1920s, he sang at the Gaîté-Lyrique, at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, at the Opéra-Comique, and in various theaters in the provinces and abroad. At the end of the 1930s he retired to Paris. His repertoire included Radames in ‘’Aida’’, Cavaradossi in ‘’Tosca’’, Lohengrin, Eléazar in ‘’La Juive’’, Werther, Vasco in ‘’L’Africaine’’, Tannhäuser, Edgardo in ‘’Lucia di Lammermoor’’ and many other parts.
