ROBERT MARINO (PARIS, FRANCE, OCTOBER 20, 1890 – ? FEBRUARY 19, 1974)

His real name was Robert Duguet. He studied singing with tenor Léon Beyle and baritone Daniel Vigneau. Then came the time of military service. He spent three years in Morocco and during the World War I, totally, spent seven years away from home. In the 1926-1927 season, as lyric tenor, he appeared at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo. But his interpretations of popular songs were more successful than his classical répertoire. He made guest appearances in Germany, Turkey, Egypt and England. Highly educated, he spoke and sang in four languages: French, Italian, Spanish and English. Later his voice was  heard on many broadcasting stations in France.
