Description
VALENTIN JAUME (ARLES, 1877 – ARLES, 1930)
He studied at the Marseille Conservatory under Viala and made his stage debut in 1905 at the Capitole in Toulouse, where he portrayed Eleazar in La Juive by Fromental Halévy. He performed at various provincial opera houses and made several guest appearances at La Monnaie in Brussels before being invited to the Paris Opéra, where he made a successful debut in 1906.
From 1907 to 1910, he was a member of the Marseille Opera House. He was particularly renowned for his interpretation of the role of Arnold in Gioachino Rossini’s Guillaume Tell.
