She began her stage career with an engagement at the Court Theater in Altenburg (Thuringia) during the 1894–95 season. She then sang at the City Theater in Koblenz (1895–96), at the City Theater in Brieg (Silesia) (1896–97), at the City Theater in Metz (1897–98), and at the City Theater in Stettin (1898–99). From 1899 to 1901, she was a member of the Mainz City Theater company, and after a successful guest appearance in 1901, she was engaged by the Breslau Opera House, where she remained for thirty years until her retirement from the stage in 1931. The popular singer was made an honorary member of the Breslau Opera House upon her retirement that same year.

Among the many roles she performed there were Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro, Mary in The Flying Dutchman, Venus in Tannhäuser, Magdalene in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Waltraute, Fricka, and the Second Norn in the Ring cycle, Irmentraud in Lortzing’s Der Waffenschmied, Frau Reich in Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Rosalia in d’Albert’s Tiefland, the Mother in Hänsel und Gretel, Azucena in Il Trovatore, Amneris in Aida, Fides in Meyerbeer’s Le Prophète, and the Landlady in Boris Godunov — a role she also sang in 1913 in Breslau in the German premiere of Mussorgsky’s opera.

Her guest appearances at various stages throughout the German-speaking world brought her lasting success, including at the Court Theaters of Wiesbaden and Hanover, and the Opera Houses of Cologne and Frankfurt am Main. From 1900 onward, she also appeared regularly at the Court Opera in Dresden.
