ROSE ADER (ODERBERG, GERMANY, 28 APRIL, 1890 – BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA, 28 MARCH, 1955)

 

 

 

 

She made her debut in 1915 at the Stadttheater in Hamburg, where she remained a member until 1918. In the 1918–1919 season, she was engaged by the Wiener Staatsoper, but she returned to the Hamburg Opera for the 1920–1921 season and remained with the company until 1931. In 1921, she sang the title role in the German premiere of Puccini’s Suor Angelica at the Hamburg Opera.

In 1922, she made a guest appearance at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome, performing the title role in Puccini’s La Bohème. In 1930, she sang at the Théâtre Pigalle in Paris, and in 1931 she performed as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at Covent Garden. She also appeared in Amsterdam in 1928 and 1930. During the 1928–1929 season, she performed at La Scala in Milan, and from 1931 to 1938, she sang on several occasions at the Wiener Staatsoper. In 1927, she was a guest at the Staatsoper in Dresden, and in 1930 she appeared as Mimì at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. She also performed in Berlin and Munich and gave a recital in Copenhagen in 1930.

In 1933, she was forced to leave Germany and emigrated with her family to Austria. Later, they moved to Italy, where they remained until after World War II. Eventually, she emigrated to Argentina, where she spent the rest of her life and worked as a voice teacher in Buenos Aires.

Following her marriage, she performed under the name Rose Ader-Trigona.
