JOS BESSELINK (HENGELO, 30 SEPTEMBER, 1894 – VELP, 3 APRIL, 1975)
In 1914, he began his education in Nijmegen and later continued his studies in Berlin. In 1919, he made his debut as a concert singer in Scheveningen. That same year, he made his operatic debut as Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly in The Hague. He performed with great success on various Dutch and Belgian opera stages. His repertoire also included roles such as Don José in Carmen, Alfredo in La Traviata, Rodolfo in La Bohème, and Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana.
