ANTONIS DELENDAS (ISTANBUL, 1902 – ATHENS, 24 NOVEMBER, 1966)

 

 

 

 

He studied violin at the Athens Conservatory and played in the Symphony Orchestra of the Athens Conservatory under Mitropoulos (1925). She studied vocals with Dionysis Lavragas, Kostis Nikolaou, Nina Foka and Marina Kalfopoulou (1924-1928). In 1928 he joined the Greek Melodrama and appeared as Turridu in ‘’Cavalleria Rusticana’’. In 1929 he appeared in the premiere of the opera ‘’Black Butterfly’’ by Dionysios Lavragas. In 1930 he had taken part in an artistic tour in Thessaloniki, Preveza, Agrinio, Zakynthos and Ioannina. He also participated in performances at the Olympia Theater. In 1932 he participated in the artistic tour of the Greek melodrama in Constantinople, Zakynthos, Kefallinia and Corfu, where he distinguished himself in the performance of ‘’Traviata’’. In 1937 he sang at the Pallas Cinema in performances under Totis Karalivanos. In the 1937-1938 season he appeared in melodrama troupe performances co-directed by Stefanos Valtetsiotis, Lysimachos Androutsopoulos and Totis Karalivanos. He also sang in oratorios: ‘’Christus am Ölberge’’ (1934) and ‘’Matthäus-Passion’’ (1931). In 1938 he went to Germany. He sang at the opera theaters in Hamburg, Berlin (‘’Luisa Miller’’ and ‘’Tosca’’), Kiel (‘’Gianni Schichi’’, ‘’Rigoletto’’ etc.), Leipzig. In 1941 he joined the staff of ELS..
