Description

ADOLFO PACINI (MANOPELLE, PROV.CHIETI, 1885 – ?)

He studied at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome under the renowned baritone Antonio Cotogni. His stage debut came in 1904 at Milan’s Teatro Dal Verme in Ruy Blas. In 1905, he embarked on a guest tour through Central America, and in 1907, he joined the Lombardi Opera Company, traveling extensively across the United States and Canada.

Returning to Italy, he sang in various cities, including Bologna, where he performed at the Teatro Verdi in Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci in 1909. In 1910, he toured South America and that same year joined La Scala, where he appeared in productions of Simon Boccanegra and Sigfrido. His success led to a guest engagement in 1912 at Barcelona’s Teatro Liceo, where he performed in Manon Lescaut, Sigfrido, and Roméo et Juliette.

In 1920, he performed in Cairo, followed by Istanbul in 1922. Starting in 1928, he transitioned to comprimario roles, taking on smaller but essential parts on the operatic stage. He retired from performing in 1941, concluding a career that spanned nearly four decades.
