PIETRO MARIO TORTORICI
Pietro Mario Tortorici was an Italian baritone active during the first decades of the twentieth century. His documented career included appearances at several important Italian and South American theatres. In 1905, he sang the role of Schaunard in Puccini’s La bohème at the Teatro Pavone in Perugia, and returned to the same role in 1908 at the Teatro Solís in Montevideo. In 1910, he appeared at Rome’s Teatro Costanzi as Monsieur de Brétigny in Massenet’s Manon. The following year, he was engaged at the Teatro Pergolesi in Jesi for a production of Puccini’s Tosca. Further details concerning his life and artistic career remain to be discovered.
