TULLIO QUERCIA (BUENOS AYRES, ARGENTINA, 1878 – ? 1950)

He made his debut in 1901 at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, performing the role of Escamillo in Bizet’s “Carmen.” After a successful career spanning over a decade, he retired from the stage in 1913 and returned to Buenos Aires. There, he dedicated himself to teaching and mentoring young singers, including the renowned tenor Pedro Mirassou. Despite his limited recording output—only six recordings for Gramophone—his impact on the opera scene and his contributions as a teacher continue to be remembered.
