ALBERTO SALVI (VENICE, CITTÀ METROPOLITANA DI VENEZIA, VENETO, ITALY, 13 DECEMBER, 1893 – LAKE ZURICH, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, USA, 19 OCTOBER, 1983)
Salvi trained at the school of Giovanni Caramiello, at the “San Pietro a Majella” in Naples. He was the first harp of the most prestigious American orchestras (Metropolitan Opera of New York, NBC Orchestra of Chicago). Salvi performed many solo concerts in a time, when more harpists were accompanists. He was called “Magician of the harp” and “Paganini of the harp”. Salvi recorded with RCA Victor and was popular on radio.
