BICE ADAMI (SANDONA, 1875 – PADOVA, 1969)

 

 

 

 

From an early age, she moved to Argentina and studied in Buenos Aires with the pedagogue Stiattesi. She made her debut in 1896 at the Politeama Argentino in Buenos Aires in Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci. By 1898, she was engaged to sing in the Italian opera in Amsterdam, where she appeared in Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana, and Manon Lescaut. In the Netherlands, she met her husband, the baritone Ferruccio Corradetti. After the turn of the twentieth century, Adami primarily performed in Italian opera houses, including in Trieste, Venice, Catania, and Rome. She also sang in the premiere of P. Mascagni’s Le Maschere at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in 1901. After retiring, she taught singing in Padua, where Alba Damonte was one of her pupils. Her daughter, Iris Adami-Corradetti, became a successful opera singer.
