AUGUSTO DIANNI (ROME, 1873 – LVIV, 1938)

 

 

 

After completing his education, he appeared on various Italian stages, including a performance in 1899 at the Teatro Argentina in Rome as Alfredo in La Traviata. In 1903, he made a guest appearance at Covent Garden in London as Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana. That same year, during a tour of Poland, he achieved such success that he was engaged by the opera house in Lviv and went on to perform as a guest in other Polish opera theaters. In 1905, Dianni made a guest appearance in Odessa. Ultimately, he settled permanently in Poland, singing regularly at the Lviv opera house until 1918. After retiring, he worked as a vocal pedagogue in Lviv.
