He studied singing at the Milan Conservatory with Del Fiume and made his debut in 1905 in Garlasco as Cavaradossi in Tosca. In 1907, he performed at the Teatro de la Opera in Buenos Aires in Massenet’s Hérodiade. The same year, he appeared at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo as Radames in Aida and as Samson in Saint-Saëns’s Samson et Dalila. He then sang with great success at renowned opera houses in Italy, Spain, South America, and Russia. In the 1910-11 season, he appeared at La Scala in Simon Boccanegra by Verdi and in Saffo by Pacini. In 1912, he performed at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome as Manrico in Il Trovatore, and in 1915 at the Teatro Politeama in Pisa as Radames in Aida. During the 1913-14 season, he sang at the German Theatre in Prague. Critics called him the successor to Enrico Caruso. In 1916, he performed in Spain and Santiago de Chile. During World War I, he volunteered for the Italian army and lost his leg in combat. His career was cut short, and he later taught singing in Barcelona.
