He studied with Serafino Di Falco in Milan and made his debut in 1914 at the Teatro Andreani in Mantova as Arturo in I Puritani. By 1915, he had already appeared at La Scala in Milan as the Duke in Rigoletto. In 1916, Solari performed at the Teatro Chiarella in Turin, singing roles in Rigoletto and La Favorita. The following year, he made guest appearances in Parma at the Teatro Regio.

After World War I, Solari primarily focused on Italian provincial stages, performing in cities such as Bari, Catania, and Cremona. He also appeared at the Teatro Regio in Turin and Teatro La Fenice in Venice. In 1927, Solari was featured at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, where he sang as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly. He achieved significant success at the Italian Opera in Holland in 1926.

In 1929, he made a guest appearance in Buenos Aires at the Teatro Colón, where he performed in the premiere of Giordano’s Il Re. In 1930, he sang again in Parma and Turin and made a notable guest appearance in Vienna, where he portrayed Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly.

During the 1931-1932 season and again in 1938, he performed at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste. He returned to La Scala in 1937 to perform as Nadir in Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de perles. Solari retired from the stage in 1946.
