Initially trained as a gardener, he later pursued vocal studies at the Liceo Musicale in Torino with Fausto Del Marchi, and subsequently with Oreste Taverna and Alessandro Rissone from 1900 to 1902. His operatic debut came in 1907 at the Teatro dell’Alleanza Cooperativa, where he performed Ernesto in Don Pasquale. By 1909, he was performing internationally, appearing as Rodolfo in La Bohème at the Teatro Bosque in Barcelona. In 1910, he earned acclaim at Venice’s Teatro La Fenice in Rossini’s La Cambiale di Matrimonio and in 1911 performed Lucia di Lammermoor at Milan’s Teatro Dal Verme alongside Amelita Galli-Curci.

In 1915, he traveled to the Americas for a four-year engagement, performing in Rosario di Santa Fé, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, San Juan de Puerto Rico, and Santo Domingo. A notable highlight was his gala performance of Puccini’s Manon Lescaut before Argentine President Feliciano Viera. During the 1915-1916 season, he toured extensively across the United States. By 1918, he was in Havana and San Juan, followed by performances in Puerto Rico and Caracas.

Upon returning to Italy in 1919, he appeared at Rome’s Teatro Nazionale as Alfredo in La Traviata, Enzo in La Gioconda, and Cavaradossi in Tosca. In 1920, he sang Enzo in La Gioconda under the baton of Pietro Mascagni in Livorno. He continued to perform, including a concert at the Teatro Regio in Torino in 1925, and remarkably, he participated in a concert as late as 1955 at Turin’s San Mauro church. Additionally, he contributed as a correspondent for English and American music magazines and appeared in Italian sound films.
