He began his career in operettas in Buenos Aires, and after spending several years performing in operetta, he attempted to transition to opera, making his operatic debut in 1919 at the Nazionale Theater of Rome in La Traviata. However, one year later, he chose to return to operetta. In 1920, he appeared at the Politeama Reinach in Parma in operettas such as Eva (Franz Lehár), La vedova allegra (Franz Lehár), La rosa di Stambul (Leo Fall), Amore in maschera (Ivan Darclée), Finalmente soli! (Franz Lehár), and La favola dei lillà (Bruno Grani). In 1931, he performed at the same theatre again, this time in operettas such as L’isola verde (Giuseppe Pietri), Miss Italia (Alfredo Cuscinà), Lo zarevich (Franz Lehár), and Crema di chic (Carlo Lombardo). In the 1930s, he returned to opera.
