NINO EDERLE (VERONA, 1892 – MILAN, 29 NOVEMBER, 1951)

 

 

 

 

Probably, he began his stage career in 1919. During the 1920s, he sang in the leading Italian opera houses. In 1925, he appeared at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples as Elvino in La Sonnambula. The following year, Ederle made a guest appearance in Rio de Janeiro, where he performed in Don Carlo, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Il Matrimonio Segreto, Rigoletto, and Un caso singolar. In 1927, he returned to the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, this time appearing in Madama Butterfly. Two years later, he made his debut at the Teatro La Scala in Milan, performing in G. Verdi’s Rigoletto.

Ederle continued to perform on opera stages until 1942, after which he worked in Verona as a pedagogue. Notably, the renowned soprano Rosanna Carteri was one of his pupils.
