GUSTAVO DE BERNAL RESKY (RESZKY) (AGUASCALIENTES / MEXICO CITY, 1875 – PARIS, 1918)

 

 

 

 

He received his education in Mexico City and Italy. He made his debut in 1899 at the Teatro Garibaldi in Figline Valdarno as Alfredo in La Traviata. Over the years, he performed at numerous stages in Italy, Spain, and South America, and he also achieved notable success in Russia, where he recorded for G&T.

In the 1905-1906 season, he appeared at the Metropolitan Opera in New York under the name Gustavo Berl-Resky, debuting as Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor. He was married to soprano Maria Scarphy (Maria Scarpa).
