CARL HAGMAN (LARVIK, 16 SEPTEMBER, 1872 – OSLO, 6 DECEMBER, 1940)
He started his singing career in Larvik Sangforening. Hagman was one of the leading forces in Norwegian opera around 1900. He studied, among other things, with Fritz Arlberg and John Forsell in Stockholm, and with Schmidt-Keyser in Berlin. Hagman made his debut in 1897 at the Christiania Theater. From 1900 to 1904 and again from 1908 to 1912, he was associated with the National Theater in Kristiania. He also performed at the Stockholm Opera from 1908.
