TOMAZ ALCAIDE (ESTREMOZ, PORTUGAL 1901, 16/2 – LISBON, PORTUGAL 1967, 7/11)
He first attended the Military Academy in Lisbon before studying medicine at the University of Coimbra. He then pursued vocal training under Alberto Sarti and later with Francisco Coutinho and Eugenia Mantelli in Lisbon. Starting in 1925, he was a student of Fernando Ferrara in Milan.
He made his debut in 1924 at the Teatro San Carlo in Lisbon as the Duke in Rigoletto. His Italian debut followed in 1925 at the Teatro Carcano in Milan, where he performed as Wilhelm Meister in Mignon by Ambroise Thomas.
