Description
HUGHES MACKLIN (TALYSARN, GWYNEDD, WALES, 1889 – MONKSEATON, TYNE & WEAR, ENGLAND, JUNE 22, 1936)
He was born in 1886 in Talysarn, Gwynedd, Wales as George Macklin. In the 1910s and 1920s he was the leading tenor of Carl Rosa Opera Company and sang over 40 tenor parts, primarily with touring companies. He also appeared in two films, Lily of Killarney (1934) and Melody of My Heart (1936). He died on June 22, 1936 in Monkseaton, Tyne & Wear, England.
